Whether we realize it or not we are always sowing seed. We sow seed everyday by what we say & what we do. If we don’t like the harvests we are receiving then maybe we should change the seeds we are planting. It’s been on my heart lately to try & sow better seed on purpose so I can reap better harvests, but I must admit it’s a work in progress.
If we look at God, we see He sowed His Best Seed (JESUS) & has reaped millions of sons & daughters & is still reaping today. Galatians 6:7 says Be not deceived God is not mocked for whatsoever a man soweth that shall he also reap. So I have recently started paying more attention to this.
The main area we all can sow better seed in is our relationship with God. If we want a closer relationship with God, if we want God to speak to us & give us direction then we need to spend time with Him. How is it that we want to be on fire for God, be this mighty man or woman of God & do great things for Him but not spend any time with Him? I’m not saying we have to spend 24 hours a day in prayer. It’s all about priorities. But sometimes we need to just turn off the TV, the computer or the iPad & spend quality time with Him. James 4:8 says Draw nigh to God and He will draw nigh to you.
Another important area many of us need to sow better seed in is our health. If we want to be healthier then we need to sow seeds of health like eating right, exercising, drinking more water, getting proper rest, getting rid of stress & forgiving others.
If we want better friendships and relationships we can sow seed in that area also. We can be there for someone else that needs it. Go visit someone in a nursing home or hospital. Sometimes we need to get our minds off of ourselves & be a blessing to someone else.
If we want someone to support what God has put on our hearts to do then we should support what God has put on someone else’s heart to do. Just be led by God & sow seed.
If we want our finances to be right & not tight then we need to sow seed. Pay tithes & offerings! Be a blessing to someone. We may not be able to do all we want to do but we can take someone to lunch or buy someone a cup of coffee. You don’t have to have a million dollars to sow seed. Start where you are, do what God puts on your heart to do & be a blessing!
Prayer: Heavenly Father forgive us for the bad seeds we have sown. Help us to sow better seeds today so we can reap better harvests tomorrow. In Jesus Name, Amen!
